Fiber Optics Cables and Dead Ends


Technowired offers a full range of fiber optic cables and preformed dead ends including the design, construction and installation of internal and external plant, underground and aerial networks over high voltage transmission lines, as well as all the materials needed for turnkey projects.

Armored Fiber Optic. The armored fiber optic cable is used in an external plant installed in ducts, trays, etc. For TV signals, public telephony or transport service either multimode type of 50 and 62.5um or single mode type of 9 um.

Its main feature is the corrugated steel frame protection against rodents covered by a black polyethylene cover, the cable is protected inside thermoplastic loose tubes filled with moisture repellent gel with a central dielectric element.

Fiber Optic ADSS. The fiber optic cable ADSS(All Dielectric Self Supported)is used for overhead lines for TV signals, public telephony or transport service either multimode type of 50 and 62.5um or single mode type of 9um.

It is characterized by not having a single metal part, therefore it does not use steel messenger, and it is immune to electromagnetic interference and therefore can be installed in high voltage transmission lines even in ducts in the trenches of electrical substations.

Before buying a cable you must take into account the span or distance between poles that supports this cable. The span is determined by the internal structure of the cable composed of aramid or Kevlar wires that gives us the tensile force and the maximum distance that the cable will support, being the most common and  economic the span of 100 and 200m.

OPGW Fiber optic . OPGW cable is the guard wire used in the construction of high voltage transmission and distribution lines; the OPGW cable combines ground and communication functions. An OPGW cable contains a tubular structure with one or more optical fibers surrounded by steel and aluminum cables.

The extruded aluminum main tube has a good combination of crush and torsion resistance, the central tube can close safely and easily the armor without closures and has easy access to optical core.

The OPGW concentric cable is mainly used in lines 500KV, 320KV and 110 KV, limited by power cut, security and other elements, mostly used in new lines, its applications are: high pressure over 110kv, with a span  Longer usually more than 250 meters.


ADSS Tension Dead End. The tension dead end is designed with an angle of rotation, using the continuous terminal connection, the dead end is mainly intended to withstand the axial tension and evenly distribute the radial tension, to guarantee the safe and reliable fastening resistance offered, with the premise of not damaging the cable, used mainly in the angle of rotation, continuous pole and terminal pole.



ADSS Suspension Dead End. The tangent suspension clamp for ADSS is intended to connect the ADSS cable to the straight line posts without concentrated tension and to avoid a bending stress; the clamp may play a role to protect the cable and help reduce vibration. The entire suspension clamp assembly contains suspension clamp, matching the fitting dead ends.





OPGW Tension Dead End. The OPGW tension dead end is used forangled connection, intermediate or step connections and terminals, the fitting is mainly intended to withstand the axial tension and distribute uniform radial tension, in order to provide a safe and reliable clamping resistance in the premise of not damaging the cable, mainly in the changes of direction, connections of passage in intermediate poles, or in terminal poles. The high-tensile aluminum-coated helical steel rod without concentrated tension can play a role in protecting the cable and helping to reduce vibration.



OPGW Suspension Dead End. The suspension fitting for OPGW, adopting a double-layer design, consists of a reinforcement in the outer structural rod (finings), reinforcing the rod in suitable size and length, to pass the axial load and disperse the radial compression force, and thus reach the inner reinforcing parts through the plastic jacket, so as not to damage the plastic or fiber optic interior cover which are fragile and vulnerable.

The clamp, which is excellently anti-resistant, includes structural reinforcement outer rods and internal structural reinforcement rod, suspension clamp and fittings equipped with connection.
